Mailia Romero woke up in Kugane on the day of the cataclysm with no memory of who she was or where she was from. All she remembered was her name. For 5 years, she wandered the various city states, but never found anyone who recognized her. Eventually, she made her own home and family with the Scions and Joie de Vivre at her winery, the Wanderer's Vineyard (Mist 5-60).

Tragically, that home didn't last and Mailia wandered Eorzea alone for some time. Now, she's found a home with the Tempest Talons and makes most of her living telling jokes at Casino Gamba. She's happily married to R'aine Bloodpaw-Romero

Mailia was born in Faerun. She was a Fey'ri, gold elves that bred with demons to enhance their power. Mailia was promised to a demon lord, but had different plans. She killed her father and fled her people forever. In time, she became a devotee to Nerull, the god of death. She conquered a town, built it up into an impenetrable necropolis, and became a powerful lich. In the fullness of time, she ascended to the plane of death and killed Nerull, taking his place as the god of death. But eternity became boring and Mailia longed for her days of adventure. One day a human mage came to her domain and offered to return her to the mortal world. This mage, who became the Raven Queen, made a pact with a Deity from another world, Hydelin. Mailia would reincarnate in Eorzea as Hydelin's champion. When Mailia awoke a Miqo'te in a strange land, she had no memory of who she was, save her name. Free of the demonic taint of her Fey'ri blood, Mailia was unknowingly compelled to atone for her crimes in her past life, dedicating her life to the path of good.
