Born the daughter of both a Uldain solider and a carpenter, Lagaan was raised in the small village in the La Noscea region.
During the great war 5 years ago, Lagaan's father was dispatch to the frontlines as a paladin. During this period, Lagaan's mother took ill from a fatal virus.
Taking it upon herself, Lagaan set off to bring her father home at the young age of 12.
During her journey she met a young girl by the name of Hydae.
She informed Lagaan that was travelling with a group of warriors to the war grounds, and that Lagaan would find what she was looking for there.

Not long after, Hydae introduce Lagaan to the small group of adventures referred to as 'Warriors of Light'.
She explain that there were many other warriors of light throughout Eorzea, that were also participating the war. However, this group of warriors were sworn to protect her, and those she held dear.

Over their brief time together, the group formed a meaningful bond with Lagaan, teaching her many lessons thought out their journey.

However this time was short lived, as once they reach their journeys end chaos ensued. Seperated from the warriors, Lagaan soon found herself as Hydea only protector. After doing her best to protect her friend, Lagaan found herself face to face with a lower Ascien, those who were hunting Hydae.

Just before being cut down, the two were saved by a gruff Hyur man cladded in paladin armor. Lagaan recognised the man at once, her father had come.

The battle was quick, and soon Lagaan's father laid bleeding dead on the ground. Distraught with sadness, Lagaan ran to her father's side leaving Hydae unprotected. The Ascien, blade in hand, advanced on Hydea, who remained unmoving and unflinching. She then looked toward Lagaan, who caught her gaze, and uttered the words; "Hear... Feel... Think".

Hearing these words, Lagaan felt sudden surge of emotions. She grabbed her father's sword and shield and rushed towards the Ascien.
Being caught off guard, the sword plunged into the Ascien's chest. Lagaan then took the same stance she had see her father make only moment ago to shield Hydea from any incoming danger. However it was not necessary. Hydae step toward the Ascien, hand raised and blasted him to oblivion.
She then transformed and reveiled herself to be the goddess of Eorzea; Hydealyn. She explaned that Lagaan was also a warrior of light, one that would lead the people of Eorzea though the darkness that would soon be upon them.

At this point everything started to shake and crumble, however Lagaan was to mesmerize to notice. Hydealyn then took Lagaan into her embrace, "You are my light, you are my friend, will you be my hope?"

All at once, light enveloped all that there was...and then...silence.

Once Lagaan awoke everything was new, and all of the horrors of yesterday had vanished....as did Hydae.

5 years later, Lagaan arrived in Uldah, grown up and strong. Ready to answer her friends final request.
