Sui-no-Kasumi was born in Sui-no-Sato to two loving parents, but as a child she grew to feel uncomfortable in her body. Thanks to a rare trade with the Kojin of the Blue however, her parents were able to obtain a rare concoction from the far west (Fantasia), allowing Kasumi to assume a body she could finally feel happy in. That experience giving the young girl a desire to explore and learn more of the outside world that allowed her to live as herself despite the insular nature of her oceanic home.

After the Warrior of Light came to her home and the subsequent loosening of it's insular laws she got her chance! Leaving to become an adventurer, spending some time exploring Othard and eventually joining the contingent from Doma and Othard generally that traveled to Ala Mhigo to fight with the Eorzian Alliance at The Ghimlyt Dark.

Since then she's traveled the breadth of Eorzea, seeking to learn more of the land that allowed her to be herself.
