Before being thrown into Eorzea, Hmmsphil comes from a world called Vana'diel and was pledged to a federation called Windurst. The rise of the adventures, in his time and current revelations with the "echo" of Eorzea, show a link concerning.
The growth of knowledge and potent white magic have lead him here.. to a realm reborn, with a lot of other familiar faces.

While he maintains a vigilant guard with the Immortal Flames of Ul'dah in Eorzea, he is constantly seeing the connection to his home of Vana'diel. He archives the secrets that connect this realm and his with studies related within the Horutoto Ruins from Vana'diel. Having knowledge and private conversations with his mentor, Ajido-Marujido, he nervously archives his journey between the crystals.

The prominent image on his face shows a unique and direct connection with this realm and a place known mentioned as Tu'lia - the gate of the Gods. It's a physical testament against the shadow lord, a rage incarnate. Although very under-geared, polite and forgetful, Hmmsphil shows many taru-taru tendencies-aru.
