Born of the Æther into darkness, Blaire has seemingly wandered the realm alone with no one except her faithful pet cat. Being born of the Æther she has always had a natural talent manipulating magic and has regularly entered the veil that even some masters fear to tread. Never having had a need interact with others, Blaire saw no need or interest in ever going to communities and revealing herself. However; the events of five years ago changed all that. Now having seen first hand the destructive power of Bahamut, she seeks to find what other things lie in wait. She always thought that her faithful feline companion was different from the other creatures that she encountered in her travels, she could communicate with it, though not verbally more of a mutual understanding of everything she conveyed to it. Names were not something she was accustomed to and therefore made up, for her it was Blaire and for her cat Witch. Soon after arriving in Ul'dah she was spotted by a member of the Thaumaturge Guild and was asked to come and be tested for level of Æther control. She was given looks of wonder when asked if they would allow her pet to accompany her. Only then did she realize that she was the only one who could see her pet and when asked her name she answered Blaire Witch. She then went to the guild and amazed the masters at every trial they could throw at her. Her acceptance into the guild was unanimous. Though reluctant at first, the thought of greater knowledge and power convinced her. She began her studies immediately.
