So the new Moogle stone grind is now out and about and people are doing various things to grind them.

Some are just doing daily roulettes for MSQ roulette and Alliance to get Moogle stones as well as the other tomes.

Some are doing dedicated raiding, usually P1. This gives 3 stones per run. I tried this and it really did not seem that efficient. I did not time it but it took at least 5 min if not more.

Some are doing Dun Scaith. This gets you 14 for the time, but I don't know how long it takes, I have not done it. It is also a 24 man group, so better hope people are up for multiple runs.

Prae gets you 14 too, but it takes about 28-32 minutes depending on the skill of the group, so not terribly good by itself.

Sycrus gets you 6 stones and this run takes about 12 min with a normal group. not too bad, but it is also 24 man.

And Castrum takes 15 min with a good group and nets you 8 stones. Is this the best one? Yes, yes it is and I will tell you why.

The key though is Blue mages. With 3 blue mages and a tank, you can do Castrum in 10-11 minutes, even WITH Livia's whiny cutscene.

With Ultravibration, all mobs in between the bosses die instantly. 3 Blues equal 3 Ultra's, more than enough to deal with all the mobs, which there are usually only 2 except at the end where there are 3 sets. The bosses also melt quickly with the right spells.

With a good group in sync you can easily get through Castrum in 10-11 minutes, making it 16 Moogle stones for 21-23 minutes of your time. (added a additional minute to requeue)

Comparing it to others:

Prae: 14 for 28-30 min. Castrum blues: 24 for 30-32 min.

P1: (say a 5 min run) 18 for 30 min Castrum blues: 24 for 30-32 min (with less people to deal with!)

Sycrus: 24 for 36 min Castrum blues: 24 for 30-32 min. (again, less people to deal with)

Dun Scaith: Time unknown for 14 stones, but I suspect about 20 min, maybe a little less. Still not as good as Castrum's 24 in 30-32 min. And once again dealing with less people for Castrum.

And of course with all these, add an extra minute for leaving instance/requeuing.

Note: Of course if you add Blue mages to the other runs it WILL affect their times, maybe significantly to make it more in line with Castrum. But I have yet to see this in the Party finder runs advertised. Maybe people will start doing it to cut down on times, who knows.

Of course this cannot be done with P1, but the 24 mans, yes. With Prae it will make little difference with the long cut scenes. maybe dropping the time by 5 min which would put it in line with Castrum where running with blue mages cut the normal good time of 15 minutes by 5 min.

Dungeons of course are a moot point since they are all 90 dungeons which Blues can't run. None of them will be anywhere near as fast as Castrum for what you get stone wise.

So there you go, if you want fast stones, make a PF for running Castrum with Blues and watch those Moogle stones come rolling in! Of course have the proper spells to do it right! ;-)
