Viola Khatayin (née Ray Prachna) is an ostensibly auri woman of short stature and meek disposition, but with a strong sense of empathy and a kind heart for all living creatures. While trained in the Nymian theory of arcanima and once in the Maelstrom's foreign levy as a medic, she has since left the military to to care for her family, including her husband Cacasohi Jojosohi and their twin children, Telkiha Kekiha and Veruru Veru, as well as her close friend and khatun, Altani Khatayin.

Viola's time in Eorzea has not been long, having met her husband in distant lands and only sailing back in the wake of the Calamity, whereupon she met and made friends with many people in the realm. She feels she already had a lifetime's worth of adventure back then, and would like nothing more than to settle down and raise her children in peace, but she knows it's a peace bound to be disrupted by all manner of troubles near and far, and will lend her talents to preserve it.
