5.) What’s your character’s ranking on the Kinsey Scale? (AKA, orientation)Sigurd is, well, basically clueless. Either of gender will work, but they have be fit into a tight criteria. I guess this is a 3?
Side note:Character wise, Sigurd in many ways is similar to Jack Vessalius in Pandora Hearts prior to meeting Lacie. In PH, Jack in early days was a broken person. He sees no hope in the future, nor the point of living in this world. He is a weak person who lost the will to live but can't put it together and kill himself. He was so drained mentally to even place blame on his family, on his birth or anyone surrounding him. Obviously, meeting with Lacie changed his life and she remained his fixation for the rest of the story. However, the primary driver of his action is not exactly love, but loneliness and anger.
Romance wise, Sigurd will follow a similar path. It is unlikely to be love but more of an obsession. He will fixate to someone who can manage to give him something to hold on to, and at the same time, unavailable to him.
It will be a constant conflict that, part of it, Sigurd will try hard to please this person by working very hard and make himself useful in attempt to please the person(what else does an experiment subject know?), either by making crafts that his fixation might need, or improve his skill so that he can help his fixation in raid. At the same time, the person has to both like him while making him/herself somehow unavailable. The unavailability is key, because it will let him to relive his familiar childhood memory of being alone, abandoned and unloved.
When this person is away, Sigurd long to see him/her. He longs for the other person to notice him, involve him. While this person is around, Sigurd is afraid that the more this person knows about him, one day he/she will leave him as well. At the end, this is totally self-defeating and will put any healthy relationship to an end.

Well, I think in nutshell is a person grew up where love and compassion don't exist (or interpret differently from what is common), this person will have a hard time in throwing the old belief away and re-learning it. As a result, this person will either have to fake a normal relationship with people, or simply avoid it.
In general, I believe ppl who were lock up as child (or don't/can't play with other children) will find it awkward to be with others.
At least you just make him socialy inept, I normally make them suffer a lot (Kres and Aelya are son and mother, and can't see each other because they are cursed - had to invent why cose I play both - while both are also cursed with immortality, while Kharn (Kresnik's father) is cursed to die and then Aelya has to... uhm eat him, so he can get reincarnated and be born again, and then she can find him again and relive everything.)
Wow. I guess my imagination is limited in that area. Personally I am interested in the psychological side of thing, like motive, why people do what they do. Question like why you feel happy when you are doing X is not that simple.
I may drill in more about what exactly happened back then when he is in Ishgard, and during his adventure as WoL. There was a transition there but I sort of leave it for now.
Nah your imagination is more on psychological side, while mine is BIG BOOM BIG EXPLOSION - DIE BLOOD STUFF! I think both are good in someway, mine is exaggerating with things LMAO.
Personally, I think there are already way too many crazy character bios around in RP, because everyone wants to be special xD
Even though realistically, most people should have a fairly normal background. So I make an effort to write characters that are not too far out there.
Even though I sometimes completely fail doing that too xD
Sera, to be frank with you, I want to post deeper storyline, but I doubt I can support anything too drastic later on. Saying that I could have tell people I am reincarnation of Zodiark, but then I cannot support a dialog because I have zero clue of his motive and thinking pattern.
Normal people can still be very interesting, I think.
