Hey gang, this is the guy who was formerly the kid known as the ridiculous name: "Auronsbrother" on FFXI's Odin. I've played a handful of MMO's but have never been able to join a guild/ls/etc that I enjoyed as much as Halcyon. A true virtual family if there ever was one.
This is a testimony to Arianna's leadership that has lead to a gameplay experience that I've yet to have replicated.
This a post that echoes the FFXI LS: Halcyion's leader, Arianna, - ( who now goes by either Lilith Eve on Hyperion and/or Lily Lee on Midgardsormr) - in her attempt to reunite our former members on the Odin server. I will be making several more attempts to reconnect. If you stumble upon this, don't hesitate to reply. I may take significant breaks from FFXIV but I do seem to check in once or twice a year, and each time I do, I check these posts.
I knew when FFXIV came out (I had been following it closely ever since it was announced) - that Halcyon would be back and try to reconnecting with our virtual family. And when I saw Arianna's blog post, I damn near had tears in my eyes. Just imagine, ever since losing contact with your first guild in your first MMO over 10 years ago, and always wanting at least another shot seeing everyone again, all the while knowing most everyone else probably feels the same way - and then BAM, a FFXIV blog happens to pop up on a search (I so bad wanted there to be an Odin server as this reconnecting effort would be much easier). With I see a post from Halcyons leader, with the information of other members, specifically naming me among those who were memorable enough to seek out - it was a feeling of joy that is quite rare. I missed these guys in my gaming days and never forgot them...and it turns out the feeling was reciprocated????...and I must have been an annoying shit since I was only 11 or 12 back then (and I'm not much better at 25 now...)....Just wow, if you ever read this Arianna and Halcyon's crew - thank you, I've missed you guys.
How rare it is, online or in real life, for someone - hell , especially an entire group - to be exactly who you thought they were. And that is exactly the case here. Halcyon felt like family then, and over a decade later the quality and character of the people in that LS still shine so bright that their efforts to reconnect pierced through the immensely deep ocean of information that is the internet to find each other! - AMAZING. A rare trait amongst people, and I damn sure need people like that in my life; on or offline doesnt matter - Arianna, Espionage, and the rest of Halcyon are the type of people that bring significant and meaningful joy to your life just by their sheer good nature alone.
