Sephirot Guide

Public
Sephirot's attacks don't have names, you must look at the animations.

in the first phase, he'll raise his fists and do a powerful cleave on the boss.

Like void ark, a target will appear on someone and everyone should stack on the marked player to split the damage.

He will also occasionally turn around and begin charging what looks like a landslide. Get behind him when he does this.

Blue markers will appear over heads, just spread out.

the first phase ends when Sephirot begins charging his powerful attack. He will become untargetable. Adds spawn including a big one. I didn't notice any cleaves. there will be two large adds and two sets of four smaller ones. Once they are killed Sephirot fall off the edge and gets big.

In the big phase, blue circles will appear on the arena. Don't stand in them. When he strikes, you will be pushed away from the blue circles, so don't stand between the edge and the circles.

He will drop AoEs under people, simply run out of them.

When he pushes everyone back, a wind add spawns at the back of the arena, kill it quickly before killing the two rock adds that also spawn.

An arrow will appear in the center of the arena, pointing to the whirwind you make for killing the wind add. run into it to avoid being one shot.

Spread out when Sephirot's chest begins to charge, he will drop a bunch of unavoidable aoes on random people, don't get hit by someone elses.

Occasionally Sephirot will mark two players, they players should run to opposite sides of the arena so the others in the center don't get hit by it.

Like in Thordan, two towers will appear. tanks should soak these, otherwise they do room wide aoe vulnerability.

a giant blue and orange orb appear on each half of the room. I don't know what this mechanic did, but we split our group in half and swapped colors every time it happened like on the first boss in WoD.

Pretty fun fight, but it's going to be a pain teaching new players that maybe aren't so skilled.

My group never figured out what the hands thing does either. I assume it splits the damage of each half based on how many people are in it, but my group always went to the green side and we we fine.

I'm sure it will have more significance in EX.

I'm guessing it will work as both a soak and add a status on you so you can't go to the same color twice in a row. They could very well make the extreme just have faster casts on all his abilities lol. I may try Extreme, HM is pretty fun.

They definitely won't. The first phase, which is usually the one in EXs that is the closest to the HM, is pretty much unrecognizable. He does use a couple things, he uses the giant AoE that kills everything in front of him in tandem with AoE circles around players. Along with one player getting a giant circle and another large circle on the ground. Which all pretty much will kill anyone that makes the smallest mistake.

His other mechanic of the two I've seen uses the jump which has to be split. But he does two of them. And they add a physical vulnerability up debuff so people can't soak multiple. And while you have to worry about that, there's four large pretty much instant death circles on the ground which cordon off most of the arena.

Hmm, maybe I won't do it. People making mistakes tend to piss me off.

Oh god I'm going to love this guy

It's not hard per se. It's just that mistakes are easy to make and always end with people dead. Add on top of that the multiple AoEs and tank busters in between these mechanics (no cast bar for anything of course), the AoEs doing about half of a dps/healer's HP and immediately following mechanics he does it twice in a row, and the tank busters which also come twice in a row and were at times taking our fully geared Paladin down to 30% with just one. The healers really need to be on their game.

So he's like an actual video game boss? YES!

I mean I'm sure it doesn't help that I'm pretty sure the other healer and I were both 205 (which is the minimum), but I don't see it getting *too* much easier with the current patch's gear. Which I intend to clear it with.
