error 1017 for an hour and a half now

ok i get logged out of final fantasy alot due to client crashes. i've been sitting here after the latest crash trying to log in for an hour and a half. and im still not logged in. and it is my day off and i just wanna play. all of the crashing is ruining my game experience perhaps more then error 1017 because if i manage to get loggged on i only lose my space in the server an hour later and then spend twice as long trying to relog. once it took me 6 hours to log into this game. this is redicoulous
I am thinking a refund is in order here...
Sheer popularity of the game overwhelming the que. They're adding servers and stability but wont be up to date until start of next week or some such. Have another beer, I had a crash three hours ago. Still knocking on the door.
I do believe this only happens to Americans. It seems no Japanese are having trouble with these issues. I know the peek time for the Japanese to play are between 3-6am in which case me and 3 of my friends get kicked off the Japanese server. I created a post on this to see if it is happening to any other Americans just about 10min ago because if this is the case something needs to be done about it
It happens in all Japan servers as well. I've been trying to log in since 5 hrs ago and still couldn't get into the game.
This sucks I start work at 11 & this crash is messing up my day -_- I love this game but not all the crashes lol I hope they get this game working cause I preordered this game about 4 years ago & all theses crashes are ruining my game . But I believe in them!!
If you lot are crashing then you need to upgrade your computers. I have not had a single crash, the only people i know who are crashing don't meet the minimum spec with 1 or all components.
And only happening to Americans? Try living in Europe and getting on at peak times, same problems. Also as mentioned i get issues with JP servers all the same.
i'm normally pretty zen about this.
i have tried logging in for the last 12 hours (on Balmung). i've had the lobby server 3081 or whatever error. i've had 1017 error (so many times) and NA and JP servers are still blinking on and off as to whether it can obtain data lists. please do something with this "servers are full"? people afk more than a couple hours need to be nudged off. :(
and now lobby server error 2002. that's a new one. meh ._.
I am giving them one more day to go this then tomorrow I am returning all 4 copies I bought and boycotting the game at my local GameStop. They had months of beta testing and failed miserably on the first try. Now it's happening again. They had the reports on preorders so there is no excuse for server size issues. They only allow 100 people in the login que or you get the 1017 error. It's bull shit and I am done. And you expect us to pay for this crap. NO. This is unacceptable!
The biggest problem is that people are literally parking their characters on the server and never leave except when forced to. Should disconnect players after going afk for so long.
Error 1017 is to be expected, but me sitting at my computer for hours clicking the load button is crap. I prefer the que option with 1 hour waits, at least I know I am getting somewhere then

there is a a server maintenance scheduled at 5:00pm pdt tommorow , it will last 10 hours . If this is not fixed after that i will be requesting my money back.
what they NEED to do, is add a system that boots players out after a certain period of time, because now all people are doing is AFKing in town under shit so they never have to worry about logging in...
I noticed all their "News" and "Fixing" stuff is happening on the Japanese side. All their work is focused for them.
Yea well since my last post i havnt tried hard to get on, but even at 4PM-6PM UK time it is now impossible to log on at all. Everyone is just staying logged in. So as soon as i get a seat, my PC will remain on for the duration.
luckily the 7 days we have wasted are given back to us for further free play time... If we ever get on that is.
Sorry but this is fuck. I try second day and error 1017. I love this game but this is annoying and unacceptable. The question is what support FF doing that people bought game and they can not play.
On the bright side, they're monitoring the servers actively and kick/banning the gil seller accounts, so theres more LEGITIMATE players getting in... thank god maintenance is tomorrow.
I basically cant get into a US server unless I log in around 2-3 AM and its a very short window before another time zone wakes up and jumps online.
I just get the 1017 error all the time too... sadly i'm on a JP server cause i couldn't change it yet (heard SE want open world transfer middle of september)... It's getting really annoying, thought i could play a bit as long as my husband is out with the little one today but nothing >.> fucking terrible is this.
I'm not from America or the UK but its not better here in Germany with logging in :/ sadly
They are refunding us days from when started subscription. I also think if we are still getting some problems they may refund more days depending on how long the login/server issues last. All players who subscribed release of the 27 got 7 days back of game play before account renewal.
