Day 322 - Fieldcraft III / Mastercraft Guide...

This guide is designed to help all the desynthesizers get the most out of their time, gil and sanity. I just acquired my 1st new ilv 75 Primary Tool for crafters - Pinga Supra! This requires 10x Fieldcraft III + 3x Mastercraft Demimateria. Hopefully you read my previous blog on how to grind-out Goldsmith to bring your dlv to 78.00. This will be a pretty time consuming process and requires a ton of shards.
Fieldcraft III Demimateria is a pain to get and this process will kill 2 birds with 1 stone. What we are going to do is farm HQ Volcanic Rock Salt & HQ Dzemael Tomatoes to create HQ Spirits of Salt & HQ Spicy Tomato Relish. We will then trade-in 10x of either to acquire the Artisan's Spectacles to desynthesize as a Goldsmith.
Dzemael Tomato can be found in Wineport @ 1pm - slot 3
Volcanic Rock Salt can be found in Wineport @ 5pm - slot 1
Spirits of Salt requires 2x HQ Volcanic Rock Salt + 1x Vitirol
Spicy Tomato Relish requires 1x HQ Dzemael Tomato + 1x Table Salt + 1x Cinnamon + 1x HQ Dark Vinegar.
At first the chance for success will be pretty low because it's an ilv 70 piece of gear. If you want to raise the percentage, do some Brayflox HM and desynthesize all the Darklight Jewelry to raise your percentage.
What is great about this method is that when desynthesized the Artisan Spectacles will yield one of the following:
1x Mastercraft Demimateria
1x Fieldcraft III Demimateria
1x Rose Gold Ingot
1x Rose Gold Nugget
The best part is the 1x Rose Gold Ingot, if we get this we get another chance at the coveted Fieldcraft Demimateria III
With the Rose Gold Ingot we will create - Rose Gold Clasps which requires 1x Rose Gold Ingot + 1x Darksteel Nugget. When desynthesized will yield one of the following:
1x Fieldcraft Demimateria III
1x Rose Gold Ingot
1x Darksteel Nugget
1x Clear Demimateria III
So if you get another Rose Gold Ingot... repeat the process. I was on vacation from work and I have been at this since the 2.3 update trying to get my 1st new ilv 75 Primary Tool.

Very nice I'd like to work towards the GSM weapon, Im at 72 desynth skill, where did you acquire the weapon I can't seem to find any info on it.

The Artisan Spectacles are a trade-in @ Mor Dhonna from the NPC named Talan. You first need the Master Recipe Books I. The new ilv 75 Primary tools are available from the same NPC under DoL... it's mis-labled for now.
Terminus Putty is the toughest craft material, no HQ ingredients :(
Yeah I've HQed terminus putty maybe twice in 5 goes. And "square enix maths" seems to make my alc miss a lot of steady hand II / hasty touch moves (the same SE maths that had me at an 80% chance of desynthesis and failed 6 times in a row today). So maxing alc is priority #1. Anyway, GSM dlvl at 72.57 thanks to your sage advice.
So tell me, what did you do with artisan saw? Desynthed?
As long as you collect your own mats at this point you can easily level Goldsmith. I didn't desynth the Saw, that would cost too much, I'll raise Blacksmith next :)
No aetheryte rings for BSM :( Militia File seemed to be about the easiest.
For Leatherworker I was using Militia Choker to desynthesize, not many people on Ultros were going Leatherworker. I am almost at dlv 90 with Goldsmith, even with the Artisan's Spectacles I'm only getting 0.02 - 0.04 gain per success.
Just cleared 80 on GSM and gonna start on the specs today. I'm considering LTW just because of the amount of loot gear that drops. One thing at a time though.
Getting a little frustrated with this.I don't know if it's the same for you but, my GSM dlv is 82.25 and I have managed to get 1 X Mastercraft, 1 X Fieldcraft III and 1 X Rose Gold ingot, 4 X rose gold nuggets and approx 10-11 botch's.
Kris, what is your success rate? Don't forget you can make Rose Gold Clasps for another attempt for a Fieldcraft III. I'm almost at dlv 95 with Goldsmith now... I've been creating ilv 90 Gold Spectacles and attaching 4x materia to raise the success rate by 20%. I sometimes get 2x Battlecraft Demimateria III :)

Since yesterday I have managed to get another Mastercraft(that makes 2) and a nugget with 8 failures.So going on that my success rate is 1 in 5.Current Dlv 83.6.
Posted this after yet another botch.
At this rate I might have a Supra by October.
WTF?! Around that dlv I had something like 66%, of course it was less than the actual posted % but not like that!!!
Today on 9 attempts I got 3x Mastercraft & 2x Fieldcraft III, at dlv 95.15 it's 92.50% success.
I'm getting similar results to Jade. Hard to know what influences this - whether just luck or other stats (e.g. craftsmanship) come into play
I desynthesized 100 Artisan Spectacles at Goldsmith dlv 100.00 with 100% success rate and here are the results:
Mastercraft Demimateria - 14%
Fieldcraft III Demimateria - 23%
HQ Rose Gold Ingot - 2%
Rose Gold Ingot - 10%
HQ Rose Gold Nugget - 8%
Rose Gold Nugget - 43%
I got 3 extra Fieldcraft III by using the Rose Gold Ingots and crafting Rose Gold Clasps and desynthezing them.
Thanks for the statistical breakdown Jade. Looks about what I'm getting, although (thanks to the RNG Gods) some days I get a lot of FC IIIs, some days a lost of MCs and some days nothing but gold nuggets. Helps to think of this with a view to long-term averages. 3 supras down. 8 to go...
So attaching materia increases your % for success? Does it matter if it is HQ as well?
Yes, for each materia melded to a piece of gear the desynthesis success rate increases by 5%, you can get up to an additional 25% From experience HQ / NQ doesn't factor in success rate or quality of the material you receive. Artisan Spectacles are NQ only at the moment.
Anyone still after the Mastercraft Demimateria may want to look into leveling Leathercraft Desynth as well as Goldsmith, 2.35 added a new i70 piece of crafting gear (Ehcatl Smithing Gloves). Obtained for 10 Oaknots, which are additional rewards from the higher tier Ixal dailies.
Still going to want to do Artisan's Glasses for finish this decade, but the dailies offer an easy and free (profitable, even) piece of i70 to desynth every couple of days. Alternatively you can go 1 Oaknot for 1 Potash/etc. (7 Oaknots for 1 Cashmere/etc. as well) and desynth parts for Fieldcraft III.
Jade can you direct me to the best place possible for 2star 40/80 Dur rotation guide? im at craft 356 control 358 and cp 344. the few sites ive found didnt work on darksteel wire hq. trying to get my armorer artisan tool. i appreciate it.

thanks jade that rotation worked and i was able to remove line 10 and still 100% with 351 control and 387 cp (with food)
Just the gloves as far as I know Jean. First the glasses, now these, seems like they're slowly phasing out the crafted stuff (which I wouldn't mind if the Glamour system in this game actually functioned properly). Then again, I don't think DoL got new gloves, so perhaps this is a one off.
Current Friendly tier of dailies doesn't give Oaknots, so I'm guessing we'll get another tier of dailies with Trusted, so that's probably 3 Oaknots a day. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
Thanks Sotek. I'm just doing the Ixali deliberance job daily at the moment. Trying to finish up the Kobold and (bleurgh!) Sylph quests so I can eventually unlock the Alliance Beast Tribe stuff (which I currently know zip about!).
I do wish those Ixali gloves didn't look so awful though lol. I could glamour them I suppose but it would be nice to get rid of all the old gloves.
Well, seems Oaknots are a ways off being farmed. Ixali have an extra 3 tiers of dailies over the other tribes, with Trusted quests still not producing Oaknots. Maybe in another 5 or so days I can finally start working towards the gloves to see what they desynth. Hoping pretty much the same as Artisan's Glasses, but with Hippo/Hardened Hippo Leather in place of Rose Gold, but that's just an assumption.
I read (but did not verify) that the Ixali gloves are not de-synthable. However, depending on how easy you get the tokens, it's a nice way to get some crafting material definitely.
If the Oaknots are tied to Daily Beast Tribe quests, I'm not sure how effective farming them can be... though you wouldn't need thousands of shards to go this route of desynthing.
So, Rep 5 finally lets you receive Oaknots. Presumably Rep 6 will add another set of quests (since there are 7 total), meaning 6 Oaknots per day. Cannot currently buy the gloves with them since a higher Rep is required, so no way to confirm/deny if they can be desynthed yet.
In better news, 1 Oaknots = 2 Peacock Ore/Aqueous Whetstone. So that's VERY good for desynthing parts for Fieldcraft III.
On my server, at least, Mastercraft Demimateria is (relatively) dirt cheap, with Fieldcraft III being the expensive one. Very nearly contemplating just buying 30 Mastercraft Demimateria and solely desynthing parts; it would be a lot easier on my sanity and my Retainers have Crystal supplies covered better than Shards. Not to mention I simply need more Fieldcraft than Mastercraft.
I was reading around and it's said that myth mats will be added as well, 7 Oaknots for 2... but it would still be easier to do Hunts for the myth and trade in for those. I decided to level my desynth skill as Carpenter as I'm a Bard and Dragoon... if I plan to do primals I can need on those. I need ALOT of Hardened Sap! I'll post a new blog talking about the MB and Oaknots :)
