I told Ikaruga the story of my victories over Kogarashi, Shiden and Ugetsu in Coerthas, Kugane and the Ruby Sea at a special meeting back in Limsa Lominsa. "Well, well, well, looks like my job here is done, at long last," she said, all smiles with Murasame, wolfing down an oversized Tempura Platter (HQ). "Not only did you max level, you finally got your gear and completed your work. Sad to see a few get slain along the way but that's the breaks."
"Seppuku would be useless in my case," I replied. "As an adventurer, I can only be revived back here to resume my work."
"Oh? So those other guys that were felled, we won't see them again?" asked Murasame.
"Makoto Kagetsu will most likely need my assistance later this year but my focus now is red mage, the only job I have yet to massively level. It's at 52."
"18 more level ups to go!? How long is that going to take?"
"Beats me, but even the Heavensward Clan Hunts don't give massive EXP boosts. It's challenge log stuff, and even that is nerfed at the 50s. So this means it does me no good to actually work with the Kojin and the Ananta until Red Mage reaches 60."
"I wouldn't worry about it," Ikaruga replied. "The job that you will use going forward has all the quests cleared and you are at max level so do not worry about going all out on Red Mage just yet. You are now a true samurai like me. I would love to spar with you but I am sure you would prefer to...do more subtle things that I will not allow Murasame to interfere with."
"Oh, you are free to come to my apartment anytime to settle down if you like," I said. "Don't bring your brother along, though."
"Awwww, too bad for me, oh well, at least the food here is good," Murasame said, ordering yet another tempura platter in high quality.
"No shame in being defeated by a professional," Ikaruga concluded.
A simple reply. "And it's nothing personal."
