Hyacinth’s real name is Kitara Kitty. To protect secrets that were entrusted to her, Hyacinth, and her brother Mao both took on different names. Both were orphans at the Green Mountain Monastery on the eastern outskirts of the Black Shroud from when they were very young. There they were trained in martial arts by Grand Master Khun.
Three years prior to the 7th Umbral Calamity, the Ixal tribes of the region staged an attack on the Green Mountain Monastery. The Ixal had discovered that the monastery housed a sacred scroll which contained powerful knowledge and forbidden skills. Grand Master Khun gave Hyacinth the Sacred Scroll and bid her to keep it hidden and never reveal it to anyone. Hyacinth, and Mao fled the monastery with most of the orphans when the attack began leaving Grand Master Khun to fend them off.
They came to Gridania to take refuge. There they joined the ranks of the Twin Adders so they might protect the people. Hyacinth tore up the Sacred Scrolls into 16 pieces and hid the pieces whenever she was stationed at new locations. This way she was sure that if one piece was found, others would be safe. While serving with the Twin Adders, she was deployed to Carteneau to fend off the VIIth Imperial Legion during the 7th Umbral Calamity.
