I did it! The struggle was real!
Given to being lazy, my summoner received a few pieces of gear at level 60 but had to complete the quest with my i110 weapon.
I've made note that ruin III is to be used while in dreadwyrm stance.
I must have killed 12 of those egis before I saw the aether thingy behind the boss...
The enemy in the 60 scholar quest was pretty cool.
Now to level Black Mage. To avoid the horrors I encountered on my Summoner, I will be setting up my crossbars and choosing where skills go.
Soon I will be an Arch Mage!!!

Yeah, I wasn't doing much damage, but I think I did pretty well considering. I was eating meteors trying to push out all the ruin IIIs I could before Dreadwyrm trance and raging strikes fell off.
very nice robe yus yus! gratz! Give summoner a try sometime ^-^
There are too many ornaments on the robe though, like the metal decorations on the arms, otherwise I'd really like it.
Summoner seems playable enough, I just don't have the patience to make a manageable crossbar setup.
xD I don't use a controller. I have a side pad and 7 extra buttons to work with on my mouse xD works very well this way yus yus!
You can use mine as a reference it makes getting to everything pretty fast

I got 6 levels on my lance and unlocked dragoon tonight. just want them cross class for monk.
Ember, on my summoner I had the pet skills set to the hotbar where you hold R2 and L2 down. iirc you get two different bars depending on which you pressed first. this saved me from cluttering my normal 2 hotbars that i switch with R1.
I use R1 and a face button to switch crossbars so I use 4 different crossbars for each job
I just put Ifrit on Auto and let him do his own thing

I wiped the SCH quest 2-3 times until I realised I am supposed to look pretty and leech the NPCs only...
gz, Ember! Summoner is a pretty good class to play.
Grats and nope you do want to use ruin III even outside of DWS - just not too much.
And well... my goon was using a i110 weapon for the longest time... same for my nin...
