Joe's W-W-W-W-Weekend, 1/23 - 1/25

Whenever I hear non-gamer parents say how proud they are of their video game playing kids I always think of this

Pretty good time in Guild Wars 2 today. World boss farming took a while to get to, as I had a lot of mats to craft, since they were starting to run low. Otherwise, the farming went well, killing all but one of them today.

And I also, like usual, played some Footsies in between boss spawns, this time playing survival mode, a mode where you have to win as many rounds as you can before you lose three yourself:

And jayhotlaps dropped by, and we had some good convo today.

And ser_loin_of_beef came by as well, after not seeing him for a while (he's been around for a long time, at least a couple years now. He doesn't drop by very often, but he does drop by). Good to see him!

But he also brought some bad news though: He had to unsub to my stream, since he lost his job due to COVID-19, and it sounded like he is flat broke now so, life sucks pretty bad right now. I definitely hope that things come around for him. :'(>

Here's the vinnies I played this evening:

The Music of Cosmos (TV show starring Carl Sagan)
Herb Albert's Tijuana Brass - Whipped Cream & Other Delights
Humble Pie - Self-Titled Debut
Billy Cobham - Spectrum

This morning (called in sick from work) I played some more Guild Wars 2, just doing my mat crafting and open-world dailies, getting them out of the way, so I can just go right into the world bosses for my evening stream.

And I just found a feature in this game that might work towards overtaking FF XIV as my favorite MMO:

Being able to change how often the in-game music plays, meaning I don't always have to mute the music entirely. I can just set it to where it only plays once in a while, which would be great if I want to do a vinyl/YouTube-less stream, but don't want to deal with either no music at all or constantly looping music, which FF XIV has a major issue with (assuming I'm not missing something).

A pretty dull session today, with only Lmartyr showing up for a few minutes

Otherwise, it was the usual boss hunting, along with mat crafting and open-world dailies towards the end of the session.

I was also playing some Footsies as well, but I kept messing up the timing on my attacks/counterattacks, causing me to lose to even the easiest opponents, so I just quit the game before I got too pissed off.

And for the records I played today they were:

N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton
Tomita - Snowflakes are Dancing
Frank Zappa - We're Only in it for the Money
Vangelis - Opera Sauvage

This morning I played a little bit of Guild Wars 2, doing some mat crafting and open-world dailies. I also worked on my cooking skill some, trying to get to where I can cook up the good stuff, and not have to rely on the cheap store-bought food.

And I also did a short hour long Pinball session as well that wasn't too hot. Oh well, it happens.

A pretty good time in Guild Wars 2 today. It was mostly world bosses. And I also tried out a new flamethrower build, noticing that there's a passive that makes you immune to stuns/knockdowns/fears/etc. as long as you wield one. Always a good thing! There's still some kinks to iron out, but overall I like this build. Not as much as I like my main healing & support build, but it's still good.

And for Footsies I beat my record in arcade survival mode (forgot to mention, there's a difference between regular and arcade survival mode, regular you fight the same opponent - named "Ordinaryguy" - and in arcade you fight different opponents), otherwise I didn't play it much this time.

And the LP records I played today were:

Metallica - Live at the Playhouse Theatre
Bill Cosby - I Started out as a Child
The Dubliners - Seven Drunken Nights
Maurice Ravel - Bolero

And aaaaalrighty! Time to call it a night. <Thank you.> for watching/reading, guys. And have yourselves a good night/day ;)>
