I hoped one would be enough, but no. The other culinarians still insist I keep going. I guess this is how it's going to be. That's fine. They're not completely wrong. No point preparing tasty dishes if I drive them off with my countenance. I could say the same to them about being friendly and underspicing everything to the point of blandness, but I've learned to hold my tongue a bit better.
I took care of Estinian. Or at least I think so. I'm now the Azure Dragoon for real. That's too bad. Was hoping I could go back to my cooking uninterrupted. Not going to run if people need me, but wish they'd need the Crimson Chef more than the Azure Dragoon. Also the armor is ridiculous. Has all kinds of sharp bits. Worried I might cut my ears if I get a linkpearl call and aren't careful. Also I don't like showing my stomach. Don't need people to see that. Also I need my stomach. For eating.
Oh, I guess I did get to use my cooking once. A flame commander told me the bad idea of cooking to improve morale and make his soldiers like him more. His problem isn't cooking, it's he's a bad leader that inspires no confidence. But I did the best I could with the supplies I had. Everyone was yelling energetically after eating. I'll consider it a win. I'll have to start carrying my pouch of spices everywhere I go, I think.
I think I might get a haircut. I guess it doesn't matter, but I keep catching my bang in things. I was going to ask one of the Scions for a trim but...I don't think I'd ever been so angry as that day I got to the Shifting Sands. I need to take a walk and clear my head.
Times like these I remember why even if I just want to be the Crimson Chef, Eorzea still needs the Azure Dragoon.
