I did some research and finally figured out how to augment my equipment.
The game has done a terrible job explaining this process to me.
I go to mor dhona, buy carboncoat and carbonthread with poetics and i take them to the guy in was it north shroud and he augments your ironworks armor piece.

Yep. Gear augmentation wasn't a thing when I first left the game. It certainly was by the time I came back, and I had to do some research to figure it out. That gear augmentation system is kept for the end game of both Heavensward and Stormblood as well, only they keep the augmenting NPC on the same map as the stuff you buy.

Going to North Shroud for this is really hidden. Though if you start a ARR relic weapon you'll need to go there a lot. XD
Are you doing augmented for glamour or to upgrade your equipment?
Equipment upgrades are mainly what i want here
Oh, I was curious since you could use poetics for relics instead of upgrading.
I guess you have the 'Road to 60' bonus to level up so fast. XD
If you don't mind a little help I can give you a basic level 60 HQ set for Christmas.
I remember your post about solo dungeons. With this equipment you won't die so fast doing solo unsync content. ;P
Ive been exchanging poetics for new gear at rowena shop. I dont know what a relic is.
I also tried a solo dungeon but its no fun i get no exp or drops from the enemies so i might need to make friends.

Relic weapons are a special type of weapon you get through quests and grinding. The origin NPC for the quest is in Western Thanalan. If you're not getting exp, do you not own the expansions?

Though I don't play much so I think it'll be hard to deliver the i255 equipment to Sarah. XD

Oh a relic weapon might be that purple weapon I'm supposed to make for a quest. I think they called that a relic.
When I was in the dungeon solo it said I would get no XP or items.
I DO get XP and such when not in a dungeon solo, so there is a weird mechanic in the dungeon when solo that makes it less fun.
Sarah, you DO get items from chests, just not from creature drops. But yes, I don't think you get exp other than from log bonuses.
Solo dungeon delving is mainly for people to farm items there. and get credit for doing the dungeon like for a relic requirement, Tales and log challenges, or achievements.
You are not there yet, but if you mess with your grand company's squadrons, you CAN do some dungeons solo and get full credit for doing them. I did it with Halatali today to level up my rogue.
@Sarah, as you are already 53, you can purchase items for that level, they are ilvl 130-ish I think where the ones you are upgrading are 120.
If you already unlock Heavensward, you can purchase the items in Dravania otherwise the board will help you (with probably an higher price).
Anyway it is good you learn early how to upgrade weapon, it is valuable when you arrive max level, before that it is more anecdotic.

Shire gear from Idyllshire, purchased from Hesmina ( I believe) for poetics. Weapon will require 10 Rowena's Token (Scripture) and (1) Micro Tomestone.
Also, from Hesmina under Others Purchase Deepest/ Tautest/Darkest Gobdip for Wep/Arm/Acc to upgrade to ilv270.
MOVE over ONE person to Bertana: Shire weapon/ trade micro/token for weapon.
Take your new gear/ weapon to Seika to upgrade.
Lolo, is the name different in English than in French or is it a typo: in Idyllshire the name of the girl the gives armors and scripture/micro tomestone is Hismena, at least in the French version.
