Botany has taken me all over Eorzea. However, today I decided to head to Cedarwood in Lower La Noscea to pick some La Noscean Oranges. I needed some for cooking and I also wanted to teach my retainer Redrain how to pick fruit while we were there. After a short ride on my bored chocobo Francois, we found ourselves at some trees surrounded by nesting buzzards. Luckily, nesting buzzards don't eat fruit. More oranges for us!
Upon bringing out my tools, I discovered that Kukuru was growing up through the trees. Given that the two plants have similar growing conditions, it makes perfect sense for local farmers to clump them together. They even pruned them, making it easy for me to gather.
My apologies, Kupo, but my message was cut off due to a buzzard eating the page that I was working on. Given the magic involved in the transcription, the first word of the second page was conveyed but remained unfinished. Alas, I really should have looked out for those pesky buzzards but it appears that the avian in question is still following me in the hopes of being given treats.
You should kill the buzzard and cook it. It would go nicely with all the fruit you gathered.
Well, several days have passed since I last saw the buzzard. I highly suspect that a certain Elezen has bribed it sufficiently enough to garner its affection. I forget his name, but the chap was a fellow member of the Arcanist guild. Whilst I am thankful that I no longer have to look over my shoulder when I eat anymore, I sort of grew attached to the silly bird.
