So last night I had a bad run in CT. I died 4 times. I think I just wasn't paying enough attention and getting kinda tired. I'm not too worried about that, we all have bad runs, and my next run was flawless.
Here's the thing, the WHM felt the need to call me out on my bad run. To top it off, I died right at the end of the last fight, so he decided not to raise me before leaving the instance instead using the time to berate me based on my performance. WTF is wrong with people? Seriously, can you not just keep it to yourself and allow everyone to have at least a decent experience even if the run wasn't perfect? I know I had a bad run, lets leav it at that. We still won, I didn't hold anyone back. Is it not fun for you unless you shit all over somebody else's good time?
I hold to the idea "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it." I guess too many people don't feel the same way? Too many people... ._. We all have off days. *hugs*
You should report people like this.
I'm 100% with Valia, I really don't understand what drives people to lash out at anyone. Constructive criticism is one thing, plain attacking is completely different.
As Hiir said, if it was very abusive, reporting is a definite possibility here.
Anyway, cheer up ! Everyone isn't like that but apparently gems are harder to find than expected in this mass of people ! :)
There are a few things that I could have done, but honestly it took me by surprise. I mean overall it was a great run, I just made a few mistakes that each got me killed. We weren't slow, and I didn't cause a wipe, but then the asshat WHM decided that his day wasn't complete unless he berated someone.
It's best just to try and forget it. They probably are this way to everyone, not just you. I've learned to blacklist/mute anyone who is like this because nothing they say will ever be worth the garbage that its buried in.
sometimes ppl are literally like that. they just cant have fun without taking out some kind of personal frustration on someone else. on the internet in a cross realm gaming community its easier to get away with it. just try not to let it get too you and befriend as many of the good ones as you can. and if your blist isnt full to bursting with old rmt names(like mine) blist them >.>
You know, unless it's constructive criticism, offered from a point of experience, and genuinely intended to help you improve, people really need to keep it to themselves.
Examples being "Hey, You kinda had a bad run there, might I suggest <action>? Here's why..."
As opposed to
"wtf man how could you let that happn n00bs liek u shldnt be runnin ct lol <quit>
Yeah it was the latter. TBH, they weren't really mistakes that warranted criticism, just dumb stuff like being in the wrong spot when AOEs went off, mistakes from not paying enough attention rather than playstyle issues.
I know the feeling, I think people just do that because they want that perfect run and if it does not go well. They want to vent it off and blame it on someone they think who caused the wipe. I think they also do it just to get a rise out of someone.
I actually hate playing CT with a full English alliance. Thankfully, I'm on a Japanese server, so I have the option of playing with more polite Japanese players as well.
Recently, I had a run where we wiped at the first room, because it was our tank's first time in. Alliance B proceeds to berate us by using foul language. Throughout the fight, when someone from my alliance attempted to try and be cooperative, Alliance B would just shoot us down.
Alliance A: "We will pick up the bombs, and C picks up the Iron Giants right?"
Alliance B: "Uh, just don't be useless."
Replies like that really irk me off, why do people find it a thing to be mean to others? Needless to say I reported the entire Alliance. I do hope they get what they deserve. What comes around goes around.
